Data Access Procedures
Data may be available to researchers from medical schools and collaborating organisations where there is a formal request to make use of the material. Permission to use the data must be obtained from the MSOD Research & Scientific Advisory Committee. You will need to read and complete a number of documents before the data are made available.
Before you submit an application, please read Documents A, B, C & I and the following:
Policies and Protocols Covering Usage of and Access to the Medical Schools Outcomes Database (MSOD)
A link of approved analyses and sub studies currently being conducted with MSOD data can be found here. Please also check these before making any submissions.
A Guide to Submitting Your Application
1. If you are:
Conducting secondary analyses on MSOD data collected from students in your OWN Medical School
OR
Conducting secondary analyses on MSOD data collected from students in medical schools other than your own
OR
Conducting research on the whole MSOD database
OR
Carrying out data linkage studies
READ the following before making your submission: Document B, Document E, Document D
Then COMPLETE: Document F
SEND completed Document F to the Research & Scientific Advisory Committee:

Once approved, COMPLETE: Document D and Document E,
You will then receive your data file.
2. If you are:
Conducting sub studies in conjunction with MSOD data
READ the following before making your submission: Document B, Document E, Document D, Document C
Then COMPLETE: Document G
SEND completed Document G to the Research & Scientific Advisory Committee:

Once approved, COMPLETE: Document D and Document E,
You will then receive your data file.
3. If you have:
Requests for minimal analyses on MSOD data
READ the following before making your submission: Document I
Then COMPLETE: Document H
SEND completed Document H to the Research & Scientific Advisory Committee:
